Table of Death & Escape Box
This is a utility illusion that combines Table of Death and Escape Box.
Effect 1 (Table of Death):
The performer is locked, chained and handcuffed in a large steel box. Hanging high over his head are many sharp spikes. The spikes are held in place by a rope that is set alight, with only moments to escape before the rope burns through. After the spikes fall, the performer has disappeared in the box and reappears in the audience.
Effect 2 (Escape Box):
The performer is restrained and locked in a large steel box. His hands are shackled outside of the box. The box is then hoisted into the air high above the stage. The performer must escape fast or else he'll be stuck in the box that will be burned once the countdown has finished. After he frees his hands, a few seconds later, the sides of the box open and the performer is shown to have vanished. He reappears in the audience.
The illusion can be performed surrounded.
